Sofia Richie’s South of France nuptials kept the internet abuzz all weekend. For those not lucky enough to earn a spot on the guest list, details and imagery were supplied by Vogue, giving readers the inside scoop on the socialite’s lavish wedding to music executive Elliot Grainge. The 24-year-old, who is the youngest daughter of R&B icon Lionel Richie, hosted a slew of celebrities including Paris Hilton, Cameron Diaz, and—of course—her sister Nicole Richie, at the celebrity-favorite Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc.
The New York Post reports that happy couple rented out the entire hotel for the elegant affair. (Per the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc website, a two-night minimum buyout is required for weddings with 100 guests or more.) Richie documented the festivities for her 713,000 followers on TikTok, where she has already amended her profile to include her new surname.
Located in coastal Antibes, the swanky Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc is a French Riviera fixture, operating since 1870 as a home-away-from-home for a multitude of stars and high-society figures. Hollywood A-listers have been known to check in during Cannes Film Festival in May to luxuriate in the storybook surrounds: situated on 22 acres of gardens, the venue offers prime views of the sparkling Côte d’Azur.
To prepare for her big day, Richie enjoyed a night at one of the property’s villas with her bridesmaids, where they “stayed up laughing all night,” she told Vogue. The villas offer a bit of extra privacy, situated a discreet distance away from the hotel’s main grounds and enshrouded by trees. Including the villas, rooms, and suites, the hotel boasts 118 accommodations in total.
When it came time to tie the knot on Saturday, Sofia descended the aisle arm-in-arm with Lionel for her evening ceremony—a seven-and-a-half minute walk down the venue’s regal grand allée. After the vows came the party, where the bride says they danced until 3 am–totally welcome, per the hotel website, which specifically notes that dancing and music for weddings is “permitted all night long,”—fitting phrasing for Lionel’s daughter.
