Lucky Brie Larson! The Captain Marvel star just snagged a 1948 Mediterranean villa in Los Angeles’s coveted Laughlin Park community in an off-market deal, according to Dirt. Historically, the gated Los Feliz enclave housed legendary Hollywood A-listers like Charlie Chaplin and Cecil B. Demille. Today, Angelina Jolie, Natalie Portman, and Kristen Stewart are among Larson’s new neighbors.
The Oscar-winner shelled out $7 million for the 3,799-square-foot home, which has four bedrooms and an equal number of baths. The two-story abode is nestled on a landscaped corner lot spanning a little over 9,000 square feet, complete with a curvy U-shaped swimming pool.
The stucco and clay tiled abode was under the same long term ownership until it sold last year to real estate investors for $3.8 million. Considering old listing photos of its dated interior and the over $3 million price jump, it seems safe to say that the investors did a thorough revamp of the abode before flipping it back onto the market.
Since the home wasn’t publicly listed for sale, current photos are few and far between. However, old listing photos show a bright red-orange front door opening into a foyer with a curving staircase and a scrolled wrought iron railing. A nearby spacious living room boasts tons of windows and a brick fireplace, and a cozy wood-paneled den offers another fireplace bordered with warm-hued millwork that matches the walls.
Several windows throughout the home offer downtown LA skyline views, while the cute kitchen was photographed with dual ovens and sunny yellow vintage cabinetry. The adjacent dining room is topped with a dainty crystal chandelier. Elsewhere, one of the bathrooms offers similarly sunshine-hued tilework, which we hope made the cut during renovations.
