Big Bang Theory star Simon Helberg—who played beloved ex-astronaut and aerospace engineer Howard Wolowitz on the CBS hit—and his wife have just re-listed their charming 1930s Spanish Colonial estate for $8.99 million dollars, slashing the previous price by $1 million. The couple picked up the property in 2019 for $6.9 million a few weeks after The Big Bang Theory wrapped its final season. According to Dirt, the asking price for the Los Feliz Oaks property was $9.9 million back in May of 2022.
Sitting on a gorgeous three-quarter-acre lot in a quiet cul-de-sac, the property is made up of three different parcels—an orchard-filled hillside garden certified as a Monarch butterfly migration stop with views of Century City; a meditation sanctuary with a koi pond; and a flat area that contains the main house, a guest house, saltwater pool with spa, and an expansive lawn.
Both the five-bedroom, four-and-a-half bathroom main house and the one-bedroom, one-bathroom guesthouse have been updated by Los Angeles interior designer Nickey Kehoe. A double-height foyer with smoke-gray tiles greets guests upon entering the main house. An arched doorway leads to a sunken beamed-ceiling living room with a new gas fireplace, enveloped by large windows and French doors that open up to a trellised patio and the lawn. The family room (with a corner bar), kitchen, and dining area all flow into each other and provide access to the backyard.
The spacious farmhouse-style kitchen features a small island and is painted in a cheery sunshine yellow. Off the side of the kitchen is another patio, this time covered and set up for BBQ-ing, cooking, and dining. Rounding out the ground floor are the laundry room, office space, and an ensuite study which can easily be used as a bedroom.
