Kim Kardashian Shows Off Her Sleek, Natural-Toned Office | Architectural Digest

Kim Kardashian, reality star, mogul, and lover of the color greige, has consistently turned to neutral colors and minimalism in her design choices. The offices of her skincare line, Skkn by Kim, and shapewear line, Skims, are no exception. In a new video tour posted to her YouTube channel, Kardashian offers an inside look at the chic workspace, which was designed by AD100 alumni Tommy Clements and Waldo Fernandez in collaboration with Michèle Lamy of Rick Owens. “She did all the furniture and helped me come up with everything that I would possibly need and love for this big space,” The Kardashians star said of Lamy.

In her personal office within the roughly 40,000 square foot space, Kardashian shows off mockups of Skkn packaging made out of actual stone as a reference for the final designs. Echoes of those raw, earthen designs are found everywhere throughout the offices, which feature no shortage of concrete, natural stonework, and neutral tones.

Out of the many Rick Owens pieces found in the space, Kardashian explains in the video that one of her favorites is a cavernous lounge area, a tiered earth-hued affair that was designed to be an office-appropriate version of a Rick Owens bed (Kardashian later reveals that she has an alabaster Rick Owens bed in her home, of which only three were created). This piece, however, appears to incorporate iterations of the designer’s “Glade Bench,” a walled seating design constructed from plywood and wool army blankets, for which Owens cites the filtering of sunlight through forest treetops as inspiration. Matching alabaster Rick Owens furniture is also found throughout the office, including two massive creamy white benches, which were designed in 2014 in a limited edition run of eight.

The open-plan kitchen area boasts Donald Judd tables and a matching fleet of the influential designer’s iconic Chair 84. “I’ve really gotten into furniture lately,” Kardashian explains before moving onto a conference room, where an alabaster Rick Owens table is paired with Jeanneret chairs that Kardashian bleached to match her aesthetic. “It’s blasphemous that I did that if you know anything about furniture,” she says of the altered chairs, which became highly sought-after collector’s items after being originally designed to serve as seats for public buildings in the city of Chandigarh, India in the 1950s. The chairs are made of durable teak and cane and can easily fetch over $7,000 each. “I love it, I stand behind my decision, and I think they visually look very pleasing,” Kardashian said, steadfast and cohesive as ever in her design choices.
