Drew Barrymore’s Emotional Home Reno Continues With a Call for Help to Chip and Joanna Gaines | Architectural Digest

Drew Barrymore is taking us through all the feels with her current kitchen renovation project. In her latest progress video posted last week, the Flower Beauty founder calls on Chip and Joanna Gaines for some mid-reno encouragement.

Last month we told you about the talk show host’s enthusiastic sledgehammer moment with her kitchen’s cabinets and tiles, and reported on her emotional discovery of the room’s hidden window. “It’s so hopeful,” Barrymore said in a sentimental moment while staring at the new reveal in the room’s drywall. “Something could be so covered up and dark. You can pry it open and create light.”

Barrymore seemed to be fully in the swing of things back then, but recently let her frustrations fly. The new video caption reads: “@chipgaines @joannagaines do you ever feel like this mid project??” and starts off with a clip of an excited and resolute Barrymore before the teardown, contrasted with a hilarious clip of the actor in mock screams and tears while spinning to reveal a room of exposed bricks and pipes, hanging wires, and raw-concrete.

“Chip and Jo…” she cries, “is this the way you feel sometimes, mid-project, like…” and continues crying out while imitating exasperation. In the most supportive of gestures, Joanna Gaines left a comment on the Flower Home founder’s page, saying, “I feel you, Drew!! Keep your vision in mind and keep pushing through the mess! It’s going to be so beautiful and worth it!!”

We’re not sure how long Barrymore’s frustrations will last or how much longer the renovation will take, but we have a feeling Barrymore is not going to give in to her “mid-project crisis.” We’ll be vigilantly watch her Instagram for the next progress report and anxiously awaiting the finished product.
